  1. Vintage Natives

    June 28, 2010 by 16stone

As we get ready to celebrate the 4th of July, I’d like to take it back a little bit further. Let’s acknowledge some vintage natives from not only the United States, but all over the world. These women adorned gorgeous fabrics, feathers, hats, and jewelry.  There is a quiet, yet regal sense of pride in their poses. I love these photos, enjoy.

  2. Rare Vintage Magazine: Say

    June 13, 2010 by 16stone

Check out Say Magazine from the 1950’s. There is little out there about this magazine. From what I gather it featured news and pictures about African Americans. Hopefully I’ll come across a copy one day!

    Enjoy the photos! :)

  3. Vintage at Dance Africa 2010: Stellah’s Vintage Groove

    June 4, 2010 by 16stone

For those who don’t know what Dance Africa is, it’s a three day festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. It’s the place to be Memorial Day weekend. Of course out of the hundred vendors that were there, I went straight for the vintage!I came across “Stellah’s Vintage Groove.” She had some amazing stuff and her booth was so crowded I didn’t get a chance to take an actual picture of her. She allowed me to snap some shots of her  merchandise though. Enjoy and check her out! :)
